 Between 1993 and 2007 (14 years) what had changed about the way we accessed the internet and web content?

In 1993 the world wide web was just for companies to expand their profits, along with other companies such as Amazon and Ebay starting up with websites who started up in 1995 when the world wide web began being more open to the public. With this we could buy Cd-Roms that allowed you to use their website with a 30 day free trial before being charged by the hour.  
In the late 90s, there was a internet gold rush that caused a dot com bubble burst. This meant that scores of companies failed as the market corrected itself from unrealistic evaluations. The Dot.com bubble was the early online marketing such as Ebay being the most popular. However, in 1994 we got to see the first Nokia cellular phone, that could send and receive SMS messages and also call people. We also got the first internet meme in 1996 of a dancing baby which was shared through email chains and chatrooms. 
Web 2.0- In the early 2000s the launch of social network such as linkedln and Facebook started social feeds with online feeds of those who accessed it. YouTube was also introduced in Web 2.0 allowing people to start making video content for their audiences. Also, in the year 2000 we got the release of the Nokia 3310 which had much more features than the first Nokia. For example the Nokia 3310 had 35 ringtones built into it however it also featured games such as Snake and solitaire. However, people would also modify their Nokia 3310 by giving it new cases to give theirs a significance to others. On October the 25th 2001 Microsoft would release the Windows xp which would be their longest operating systems till it closed in 2007. Windows xp used the Windows NT 5.1 kernel, which would replace the Windows 9x branch. Although the Windows xp was the longest flagship for Microsoft, it had many security issues which led to three service packs being brought out to protect peoples data (mainly military). 
2007, the first iPhone. The iPhone 1 was introduced on the 29th of June 2007. The reason why the iPhone 1 was groundbreaking for how we accessed the internet, is because of everything now being all in 1. This included things such as listening to music, SMS messages, and a search engine called Safari developed by Apple. This meant people would no longer have buy multiple devices to play or listen to music of their choice, as YouTube content creators would post lyric videos of music, which also made artists could post their music on YouTube to make more money from the views their music would get.

 Instagram   Instagram is a social media channel that allows you to connect with people around the world and post photos and videos of events you want to remember. For example, one benefit of using social media, is being able to upload recent activities and allow your family and friends to see them. By doing this you will get likes and comments from the people who follow you or those who appear on your suggestions, which will inspire you to continue uploading more posts in order for more people to like your posts to let you know people are interested in what you are up to.  Also, people use Instagram to gain national fame. They can do this by posting content that is trending or becomes a trend, that will make people want to access their account more. LO6: Social Media vs Traditional Media

 Artic Monkeys and Stormzy's use of Social media  In the early 2000s Arctic Monkeys used apps such as Myspace and SoundCloud to promote their music and build a fanbase to give them enough fame to be recognised by the music industry. However, this worked out really well for the band as not only did they get really popular on Myspace and SoundCloud but have now became one of the most successful UK bands of all time. Other Artists since then have kicked off their fame from using SoundCloud such as Post Malone in 2015 released a song on SoundCloud called White Iverson which would be shared from SoundCloud by his fans and would globally go viral.   In 2014 Stormzy did a underground freestyling scene in South London for LinkUpTV who try and support underground UK rappers and get them to fame.
