 Why is social media a useful tool for global companies when doing a campaign

Social media channels/ tool mind map 

Purpose and features of social media channels Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, SoundCloud, Linkedln, Flickr, Spotify, Pinterest, Kickstarter, Reddit, Snapchat, Instagram, Amazon Music

The three features that these social media channels have in common such as taking and uploading photos and videos, Listening to music, Live streaming.
The social media channels that are best for audio are YouTube, Spotify, and Amazon Music. This is because all three of these channels specialize in music and sound, as artists release their music on to these channels in the best audio quality they can get. 

For audio visual YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and Instagram, as all of these media channels have a focus on videos being uploaded as content that keeps the channels flowing. They also have settings that allow you to change the quality of the videos to give you the best video quality possible. 

The media channels that would be popular for crowdsourcing is Facebook, Twitter, Linkedln, Instagram and Reddit. This is because the media channels allow you to post text that would reach to your audience, and allow you to ask them for help.
 
The media channels that would be good for crowdfunding would be Instagram and Linkedln and Twitter as you put links in your bio that can direct people to your funding page once they click on your profile.

Primary and Secondary Audience 
Each social media channel/platform has a primary audience(main target audience that use it/ design for) and then a secondary audience ( anyone else outside of this audience)
Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, SoundCloud, Linkedln, Flickr, Spotify, Pinterest, Kickstarter, Reddit, Snapchat.

Who is the primary and secondary audience for each one- prove it based on what you know about each channel. 
  • SoundCloud- (Primary- People who upload and listen to not labeled artists.) (Secondary- The people who go on to Soundcloud to look for promising artists) 
  • Spotify-(Primary- People who want to listen to artists music) (Secondary- Artists using Spotify to upload their own music.)
  • Instagram-(Primary- For people from 13-30 to post videos and photos of their lives.) (Secondary- People from 50 and above who have been suggested to go on the app)
  • YouTube-(Primary- People from the age of 10-40 to watch or upload videos) (Secondary- Adults setting up an account for their children to watch YouTube on)
  • Twitter-( Primary- for people from the age of 13-40 to make comments and share content) (Secondary- Older adults that use twitter for recent news and controversial debates.) 
  • Facebook-(Primary- People from ages of 16-40 can post photos and videos about their lives.) (Secondary- People from the ages of 50-80 download the app to keep messaging other family members on other platforms.)
  • Linkedln-(Primary, create an account and talk about your profession in hopes for a job.) Secondary-(

Benefits 

  1. Tracking- The reason why tracking is useful on this website, is because it shows who is on task, meaning it allows the admin to know who is at what point of the task, and allows early feedback to be given if someone is stuck.
  2. Calendar- The calendar is useful as it allows your team to plan what needs to be done. it also allows you and your team to stay on track with what needs to be done. You can also add deadlines and start dates to this, ensuring your team stays on track with the schedule and knows what needs to be done. 
  3. Notifications- The notification bar is important as when people are not on the website, they can get reminders of what needs to be done. Also, using notifications can be used to tell your team what task is needed to be done, making them not have to access the website all the time to see what is needed to be done. 



How has online project tools impacted small businesses 

Online project tools improves on productivity for other businesses, by increasing teamwork and allowing them to have the required resources that they require. Most platforms use the same tools so businesses would not have to worry about losing the features they once had on one platform. However, some platforms might have their own unique features that other platforms don't have.

Is a way of computing popularity of a brand or company by extracting information from social media channels. 
In other words, this is the way the way to see how successful social media marketing strategies used by a company. 
The process first gathers data from different websites and then performs analysis based on different metrics like: 
  1. Time spent on the page
  2. Click through rate
  3. Content share
  4. Comments
  5. Text analytics to identify positive or negative emotions about the brand.

Technology companies may also get social media data from data reseller. Some social media monitoring and analytics companies use calls to data providers each time an end user develops a query. 

In section B you could be asked for a social media measurement/ social media monitoring tool. 
The goal should be in the 100's at the start of your campaign and no higher than 2,000 by the end of your campaign to show you understand how engagement increases throughout a campaign.


Task 1. Social Media Measurement 

The reason why social media measurements are important, is to keep checking on the performance of peoples social media accounts. They do this by checking the various metrics and KPI's to analyze this data, businesses can evaluate their social media campaigns and quantitatively demonstrate their the impact of their social media efforts to key shareholders.
